Good Things Newsletter was born in 2020, the year none of us will forget.
The year 2020 proved to me the importance of pursuing and savoring the simple, beautiful and good things in life. Living in South Carolina and embracing a southern lifestyle of slower days, basking in the sunshine, and appreciating beautiful scenery and towns showed me how special these simple things are to me.
Thanks to a propensity for research and adventure, I have learned about and discovered products, places and practices that have nourished and equipped me and my family for good times -- and not-so-good times. Some of these discoveries have been so profound that I often wish I had known about them when I was in my teens, 20s and 30s. As I am now a mother of college students (this above photo was taken about 16 years ago), and my perspective on being a mother has evolved and sharpened in focus. I often think, "if only I knew then what I know now."
If I could rewind the clock and be 20 and 30 again, the Good Things Newsletter is the lifestyle publication I wish I had read . The lessons I have learned over the years about organization, planning, nurturing, fashion, home design, decor, budgeting, working, exercising, and traveling have stirred my vision for a newsletter dedicated to what is good in life and how to share those good things with others -- whether you're in the South or not. Rather than keep these life-lessons and discoveries of goodness to myself, I hope to share with you inspirational for finding all the good in store for you.
I also look forward to learning from you about your favorite discoveries, products and places to visit. Please feel free to send me a message or comment in the blog posts.
Here's to living the beautiful Southern lifestyle -- no matter the year or wherever you live!
